Capital of Yemen from the 12th to 15th Century, Zabid declined as Sana’a rose as the new favoured city. Settlled on the plains of Tihama, what remains of Zabid is a shadow of what it once was. Gone is its affluence and influence. It is now one of the most neglected towns of Yemen. What do you think of it? photographs are my own.
